The Meaning of Yarari

In Taino language Yarari means a fine place, not a perfect or unique place, but just a fine place to be at. The Tainos were the indigenous inhabitants of the island at the time that the Spanish Conquistadores arrived. The Tainos offered the Spanish a fine place, a place where lots of good things could have happened among the cultures that met however innocently, forcefully or disastrously. In Las Terrenas we have a rich mixture of cultures, ethnicities, nationalities, languages, backgrounds, educational and professional experiences among the 20,000 people living here. I invite you to use this fine place to explore, to respond and to suggest or challenge its content via your comments.
